OK, OK, I know the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) was like, two months ago, but since I’m doing this whole blogging thing again, I figured I may as well write about what I wore.
Between the party hopping, numerous events and, of course, work, this year’s film festival left me sick in bed after all the fun and drinks. But hey, it was totally worth it.
Here’s a recap of my outfits:
Swarovski invited me to the AMBI Gala this year, which hosted big-named stars such as James Franco, Pamela Anderson, Coco Rocha and more. I found out about this last-minute, so I headed to my friend Marcus’ store, the Toronto Designer’s Market, and picked up this vintage Lanvin dress from one of the booths. I paired it with gold strappy heels from Aldo, and borrowed some incredible jewels from Swarovski to complete my look. And my ride-or-die hairstylist, Matthew Collins, gave me this chic updo.
Dressing up and everything was fun, but the best part of the night was getting Pamela Anderson’s rose that she wore in her hair and bringing it home with me. WIN.
Toronto Life Best Dressed Party/ET Canada Party
Back when Zara had its big sale in the summer, I ordered this red knit slip dress online. Fun fact: I used to always avoid wearing red because when I was younger, my mom told me red didn’t look good on me. I realize now that she meant a specific type of red, but this has always stayed with me and I just veered away from the colour altogether.
However, I saw this dress and decided I wanted to have my very own Cher Horowitz moment, so I added it to the cart (it was only $30).
As for accessories, I stuck with those same gold Aldo heels and a Miu Miu clutch I got with a perfume once.
If you know me, you know my fave TIFF party ever is Mongrel House. It takes place at the historic Campbell House in Toronto, and has everything from food trucks to ping pong and karaoke.
My best memories from TIFF ’15 took place at Mongrel, so I couldn’t wait to head back this year. Since I went on a weekend, I decided to go more casual, and wore a silk top and vegan suede shorts from Aritzia. My shoes are from Joe Fresh, which I got for $15 on sale and my earrings from H&M.
I’m used to doing big, sexy hair, but lately I’ve been feeling the slicked down look with a centre part, so I went with that.
Birks Diamond Tribute to the Year’s Women in Film
This was probably my fave, fave look from the film fest. This dress is basically a glam bathrobe and it’s from H&M’s Studio Collection.
Right before this event, we were filming our “50 Layers Of TIFF Swag” video at work, which left me roughly 20 minutes to get ready.
Basically, this was the transformation:
Again, stuck to the Swarovski jewels, Aldo heels and Miu Miu clutch, and even kept that whole slicked down ‘do I was talking about earlier. As for makeup, Nudestix, baby!

For my final TIFF outfit, I went back to black wearing head-to-toe Zara (except for the Club Monaco moto jacket that I pretty much lived in this fall).
I got this dress from the sale as well, but it sadly shrunk as I immediately threw it in the wash after sitting on a strawberry (my friends hate this story). That, or I gained a LOT of weight since September, which could be likely as well.
And to make things even more vampy, I used Maybelline Lip Studio Colorblur Matte Lip Pencil in Plum, Please on my lips.
Et voila, my TIFF 16 style diary. Until next year!
